Container exchange by rail

Container exchange by rail

Optimal 24/7 rail connection for all container terminals

PortShuttle Rotterdam offers its customers an extensive network for the exchange of containers between terminals in the port of Rotterdam. By using the existing network of rail providers in Rotterdam we interconnect the deepsea container terminals located on the Maasvlakte. Through the Rail Service Center and CTT-R we connect the Waal-/Eemhaven area and the Maasvlakte.

Your container can be exchanged between the terminals in our network within 24 hours. On request and with sufficient volume we can connect with other terminals as well. We assure you that we will always find a suitable solution to establish your connection.

ECT

ECT, a member of Hutchison Ports, was the first automated container terminal in Rotterdam. Besides connecting maritime flows to deepsea ships, the two rail terminals of ECT (ORT and RTW) offer the possibility of transshipment of containers between trains or train and truck. Using the PortShuttle Rotterdam network, containers can be exchanged efficiently to the other container terminals on the Maasvlakte. It is also possible to connect to the European rail network using the PortShuttle Rotterdam network through RSC Rotterdam or CTT-R. The ECT rail terminals have a total of 10 terminal tracks and 4 rail cranes for fast and efficient train handling.

EMX

Euromax is the second terminal of Hutchinson Ports located on the Maasvlakte. Besides rail transshipment for connection to the deepsea network of EMX this terminal can also be used for transshipment between trains and train and truck. Containers can be bundled and exchanged to other terminals in Rotterdam using EMX and the PortShuttle Rotterdam network. The EMX rail terminal consists of 6 terminal tracks and 2 rail cranes with a unique traverse that allows locomotives to circle the train.
